Originally from New Jersey, Alyssa relocated to South Florida in 2011 after experiencing her own struggles with addiction. Alyssa began working in the treatment field in 2012 and gained a wealth of knowledge in the recovery industry and digital marketing. She was a 2016 graduate from Palm Beach State College and has completed the Salesforce University for admins and developers. Alyssa joined the Banyan Team in 2016, bringing her five plus years of experience. She has moved her way up at Banyan by transitioning her role from Quality Control Operator to the title she holds today which is Director of PR & Communications.
Anthony is an Ordained Minister (Non-Denominational) and published Christian Author, his Ministry experience includes Chaplain Community Liaison, Director of Ministries,Director of Community Outreach, and Biblical Counselor, He has a heart for those who suffer with mental illness, addictions and the broken in spirit. He has ministered to over 6,500 individuals suffering with addictions, mental health issues, the homeless, youths and inmates. He has been interviewed on numerous Faith & Recovery radio and internet shows. Anthony has successfully completed specialized training with the International Conference of Police Chaplains (ICPC) and The Ministry Training Institute. He is the Director of the Faith-Net Programs with the National Alliance of Mental Illness (NAMI).
In 2014, the National Association of Social Workers, Broward County awarded Anthony it's Public Citizen of the Year. In 2015, the National Alliance of Mental Illness, Broward Country awarded Anthony it's volunteer Recognition Award.
Corey was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. After struggling with his own demons of addiction, he decided to make a change and come to South Florida for recovery and flourished into the man he was meant to be. Corey joined the Banyan Team in 2014 starting as Banyan’s original Director of Alumni Services and quickly moved his way up within the company from Outreach Coordinator, to today holding the title of Director of Business Development. Corey plays a key role in our South Florida presence, but also travels nationwide to establish working relationships for Banyan Treatment Center and to let the nation know Banyan’s Mission.
Dannielle was born and raised in New Jersey. She attended Montclair State University and majored in Family Services. Danielle’s career in the addiction treatment industry started at a women’s sober living facility before she joined the Banyan Family in July of 2015. During her time at Banyan, she has worked her way up in the company starting as an Intake Coordinator, moving to the Director of Intake, now holding her current role as Director of Admissions.
She loves being a part of giving clients the chance to get sober, be happy, and be successful. Her favorite part of her efforts however, is speaking to parents and supporting them through the process of getting their loved one the help they need. Her goal as Director of Admissions is to make the admission process as stress-free as possible, while yielding support. She recognizes what a huge decision this is for the whole family unit. She wants people to feel proud and secure in their decision with choosing Banyan to help their family combat the disease of addiction.
David picked up the tools found in the 12 step fellowship and immediately dove head first into the recovery available here in South Florida, where he worked diligently with his sponsor and completed the 12 steps while obtaining employment.
David first came to Banyan Treatment Center as a Behavioral Health Technician. After showing his dedication and firm work ethic, David was given the opportunity to take some training courses and becomes Banyan’s first Recovery Coach. After excelling in coaching, David was then promoted again to Director of Alumni Services. As the Director of Alumni Services, David reaches out to clients and keeps in contact while bringing them back for weekly alumni meetings and monthly alumni events.
Josh McPherson was born and raised in Frankfort, Kentucky. His own personal struggle with alcohol and drugs relocated him to South Florida in 2013. His new purpose after getting sober was geared entirely around helping others. Josh started with Banyan in October 2014 as a Behavioral Health Technician. He has been blessed to grow within the company as the company grew itself. His growth landed him with his current title of Director of Operations for the Pompano Beach PHP and IOP levels of care. One of his favorite parts about Banyan is that he is involved in training when facilities open out of state. He loves being a part of the new growth and goals. Josh is honored to be a part of the Banyan Family and eager to see where this journey continues to take him.
Mary Lee has worked in the medical industry in Clinical, Operations and Compliance Management with her Degree in Nursing for over 30 years. Substance Abuse is very personal for her as many close family members have suffered with addiction. Her passion is to evaluate and assess the process of improving the delivery of services to safely help clients recover. Throughout her career she has worked in PA, NJ, CA and FL. Currently in her role as QA/PI Director for Banyan she has been instrumental in expanding levels of care to Residential Detox, Intensive Inpatient, and Residential Level 1 clients.
Born and raised in New York, Michele hails from a large family of 11 siblings. After graduating high school, she earned a Bachelor Degree in Education from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Pursuing a teaching career, Michele worked for several years with under-privileged children in the Bronx, NY. It wasn’t long before her spark for business became apparent, and she was called into a very successful family business, who’s distribution spanned into several states. Meeting her husband of 40 years, during a family trip to Italy, she is now the proud mother of 4 children and 5 grandchildren.
Fleeing the cold New York winters, Michele and her family moved to Florida in 1999. Never one to be idle, she applied to the Palm Beach County School District and was hired to teach at the Palm Beach Marine Institute, a school for young offenders. Moving to Broward County, searching for a position utilizing both her compassion for others and her sharp business acumen and administrative skills, has landed Michele at Banyan Treatment Center and Recovery, where she currently holds the title of Director of Human Resources.
Richard Mayora is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has taught at The Institute for Addiction Studies and The Academy for Addiction Professionals. He has chaired Broward’s Recovery Month event several times and will act in this capacity for 2017. Richard has been in private practice, served as the Clinical Coordinator at Community Healthcare/CenterOne, and was a clinician at Broward Health Medical Center’s psychiatric unit for many years. In 2014, Florida Atlantic University named him Supervisor of Year and mentoring students is his greatest passion.
Ryan Steinberg MS works as the PHP Clinical Supervisor at Banyan Treatment Center, specializing in solution focused therapy, client-centered therapy, as well as disease concept and education about the Twelve Steps. Ryan has worked extensively with adult and adolescent client populations in Inpatient, Residential and Partial Hospitalization settings. He combines his clinical experience with his personal experience in recovery to provide the most effective treatment to his clients. Ryan is also an advocate for the LGBTQ community and he has received advanced clinical training in sexuality/gender related issues. A South Florida native, he received his Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University.
Marla Sriskand graduated from Florida Atlantic University in 2002 with her Masters of Social Work degree. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who proudly utilizes her clinical skills to promote change and save lives. Before working at Banyan Treatment Center, Marla worked with children and families in school-based programs for over 10 years. She has been a Certified Addiction Professional (CAP) since 2014 and specializes in addiction counseling. Last year, Marla began another lifelong mission, which was to reduce the stigma surrounding addiction and to promote counseling in her country of origin, Sri Lanka. Marla also enjoys sharing motivational stories with her coworkers, in order to help them continue to feel empowered in their work and maintain workplace morale.
